esp-web-install --chip esp32s3 orcdial nightly-f0dbad9
Install OrcDial
No OrcDial release yet, so this installs the latest nightly build of main: nightly-f0dbad9, built 2026-10-09 03:39 PDT. It has passed the automated tests and been flashed on a real Dial, but expect the occasional bug.
What's in it, build log and file hashes: nightly page.
Your pairing and settings are kept unless you choose to erase. This writes only the bootloader, partition table, boot selector and the OrcDial app, the same files a PlatformIO upload writes, and leaves the settings (NVS) area alone. When it asks Erase device, leave the box unticked. Ticking it wipes the Dial's pairing, so you'd pair with the Tab5 again.
Steps
- Open this page in desktop Chrome or Edge.
- Connect the Dial with a USB-C data cable and close any serial monitor using its port.
- Click install and pick the Dial's port (USB JTAG/serial debug unit).
- Keep it plugged in until it restarts into OrcDial.
Coming from M5Stack's factory demo or other firmware? If anything looks odd after installing, install again and tick Erase device.
